Canada comes to the centre of London

Once upon a time, there was a place called Canada. Our Canada. Not a cold, lonely land of vast landscapes, but one filled with colour and sounds and scents and scenes of a lifetime. We want to tell the world about the real Canada. Our Canada.

It’s vibrant, colorful and filled with progressive people. And now we’re turning 141. Looking pretty good for our age, eh?

What else?

On Canada Day, July 1, the Square will be open for business bright and early! This free festival kicks off from 11.00 am with Canada’s world famous fast and furious street hockey. This ‘must see’ sport is guaranteed to bring more that just a few thrills and spills as teams compete for the coveted Trafalgar Cup.

A wander through the rest of the square lets you step into Canada and experience first hand diverse aspects of the worlds friendliest country and its lifestyle. On the west side, Alberta, home of the Canadian Rockies, hosts a chill-out Pavilion. Step in for a relaxing massage or a breath of fresh air at Alberta’s exclusive oxygen bar. A Taste of Ontario, across the square, lets you sample some canuck culinary delights from Toronto and surrounding areas.  Meanwhile, the Experience Canada marquee on the north terrace lets meet with tourism representatives from across Canada so you can plan the ultimate getaway.   And for those looking for laughter, Québec, Tourism Montreal and the world famous Just for Laughs Festival present a day of fun with Canadian comedians to performing live in the Québec Fun Pavilion on the North Terrace. If that weren’t enough the unplugged sounds of Canadian musical talent from places as far afield as Winnipeg and Whitehorse will be showcased on the stage at the foot of Nelson’s Column!

As the evening draws on, the Square takes on a different vibe as Canada pumps up the volume again for another free, but non-ticketed, night of music and entertainment for lucky Londoners.  The action for Tuesday night keeps on going until 10.30pm.

We’re bringing you an even bigger and better festival that is completely  free! Its all about saying “buh-bye” to the bland and hello to the riveting details of place, taste, sound and scent. Because that’s what makes our country exotic, proudly original, uniquely ours. If you didn’t know us, now you will. C’est le Canada. We are more.  We’re Bringing Canada to the Heart of London!
